‘Print and Save’ campaign continues at Denny Bros

 

150713 DennyBury St Edmunds-based print specialist Denny Bros Ltd has announced a number of new green campaigns that confirm its position as one of the most environmentally-friendly businesses in Suffolk.  It is working on a dual approach to both minimise its impact on the environment while at the same time helping its customers to reduce the amount of packaging they specify and any associated wastage.

Already listed as one of the Top 100 Green Businesses from the region, Denny Bros has announced a further initiative that will see the company producing 20% of its electricity requirement from solar energy.

The family -owned international specialist printing business and creator of Fix-a-Form® multi-page labels has implemented a second phase to follow the installation of its first phase of 200 (50kw) solar panels  introduced in 2014. This move, supported by Suffolk County Council’s  SABRE scheme, has saved the company over 23 tonnes of C02-equivalent each year.  

Just one year later, the company is trebling its solar generation capacity by installing a further 100kw array.  It is expected to be fully operational by the end of June – and generate enough electricity to power 21 homes. 

MD Graham Denny said: ‘We are a family business and our name is over the door. Our reputation is very important to us and we want a social conscience to be a key factor in determining how we run our business. We have operated an ISO 14001 compliant environmental management System since 2008 and now have green policies embedded in everything we do. Reducing waste in all its forms is a key objective for us as is driving down our carbon footprint’. 

Also speaking about the latest moves, Denny Bros Quality Manager Julian Colman said: ‘It does indeed feel good to be working in synergy with nature to improve the environmental performance

of our business.’

‘Our multi-page Fix-a-Form products can concentrate huge amounts of copy in the smallest of spaces including the multiple languages that come as standard in today’s product manufacturing process.  Our products have always been ‘green’ but now we are proud to say our whole manufacturing process is following a green path too.’

‘We believe it does matter and we will continue to be one of the UK’s packaging companies at the forefront of energy saving and waste reduction.’

The business is celebrating 70 years of print history (1945-2015) this year.
